The Greengate Intensive addiction treatment program is designed to provide an intensive, alternative, holistic,  and highly individualized approach to the complex issues relating to substance abuse, dependence, such as alcohol, meth as well as obesity.  At Greengate, we believe that addiction is a multi-faceted problem with multiple causes, including biological, physiological, emotional and social factors. All of these factors come into play, creating a cycle of self-defeating and self-harming behaviors. Often the individual finds him or herself unable to stop the cycle, and professional intervention may be necessary.

Proud to serve Flagstaff, Phoenix, Scottsdale, Tucson, Mesa, Glendale, Chandler, Gilbert, Tempe, Peoria, Surprise, Yuma, Ahwatukee, Sun City, Queen Creek, Maricopa, Apache Junction, Cave Creek, Care Free and More!  We are accepting patients from across the United States.

Why Greengate Intensive?

We recognize that there are many established treatment programs throughout the country providing excellent care. Our approach to addiction includes evidence based treatment approaches with a flexible treatment schedule.

In these very stressful economic times, many people are fearful of entering treatment. Admitting an addiction problem or leaving a job for treatment could mean losing the job. On the other hand, substance use may increase during times of stress, causing substance use to escalate until its out of control.

At Greengate Intensive, we are able to develop intensive treatment programming that allows you to be away for one to two weeks. We will work hard to develop the type of treatment plan that allows you to return to work and be treated within your community for follow-up care. We begin discharge and aftercare planning the minute you complete your assessment. You can take vacation time, traveling to scenic Flagstaff, AZ.

If you are able to be absent for a time, Greengate offers a traditional 30 day program with multiple features. Additionally, we offer a sober living arrangement that allows you to live on-site and attend step-down programming while working.

 Greengate Intensive Philosophy

Addiction is a complicated disorder. The staff at Greengate Intensive believe that psychological trauma is one of the major underlying contributors to addiction. Therefore, our treatment model is focused on the core issues surrounding trauma and the healing of these core trauma issues. The modalities used by the staff are designed to help mitigate the effects of trauma, allowing the client to put closure on issues that have negatively influenced behavior, leading to reactive and self-destructive behaviors. Psychological trauma is evidenced through chronic depression, anxiety, physical illness, mood swings, problematic relationships and anger issues. At Greengate Intensive, we are able to help identify traumatic stressors and teach the client ways of processing memories so that they are no longer intrusive and disruptive.

Individual Approach

Each person is assessed for physiological, psychological, social and emotional factors that contribute to addiction. Physiological problems are assessed through consultation with a naturopathic physician, who will ease symptoms associated with sub-acute detox through IV and nutritional intervention. Food allergies will be identified. Consultation with a nutrition specialist will allow you to develop improved eating habits that will decrease the desire to use chemicals.

Psychological and emotional problems are assessed through extensive interviews with our clinical staff. Psychological testing may be initiated. A comprehensive treatment plan will be developed with your active input and participation.

Social aspects of addiction are an integral part of the cycle of abuse. Family members are encouraged to participate in evaluation and programming. Interviews with family members are included in the assessment phase. Reinforcers for continued addiction are examined and eliminated. Clients are not allowed to isolate and are encouraged to participate in social activities while in treatment.

Often addicts have problems with sleep, anxiety, depression, headaches and multiple other symptoms that seem to be eased through alcohol and drug use. Neurofeedback is a modality that addresses these ongoing difficulties, often allowing the individual to eliminate these symptoms and therefore prevent relapse. Neurofeedback is an integral part of the Greengate Intensive comprehensive treatment approach.
